Little but good…

They are an Alternative-Rock band from London which started out as a solo project by singer Dan Smith, but later became a quartet. Although the band’s debut was on 2010 with a couple of tracks, it wasn’t until 2012 that they had their first official release ‘Overjoyed’ with Virgin Records.

Such is their success, that Bastille will be joining famous band Muse as a supporting act on their tour in May and June…

This is the first day of my life…

They’re an American Indie-Rock band from Nebraska founded by singer-songwriter Conor Oberst. He started out with this project by himself, presenting on 1998, the first album with label ‘Saddle Creek Records’, co-founded by one of the band’s future members.

Since then, they’ve been a three-man band who often collaborate with other artists releasing nine albums till this day…

By blood and music…

Siblings Maggie and Tyler Heath, better known as ‘The Oh Hello’s’, are a band from Texas. They make and self-produce their own music and have recently released their first full-length album called ‘Through the Deep, Dark Valley’.

It’s never too late…

Leagues is a three-man band from Nashville who, one day, decided to just drop everything and focus on music. They’re “a group of men leaving behind any preconceived notions or expectations but never their innate musicianship or love for the craft of songwriting”.

At first, the members all had music careers of their own, but no matter how much they loved it, this was clearly better and something they were certainly not expecting. They felt like it was meant to be and started “to make music they’d never quite played before but never sounded so right”.

The band’s first album, was released last January. It is filled with joyful and refreshing tunes which deserve to be heard…

No one said it had to end…

They were an Australian rock band formed in 2001 who decided to part ways earlier last year. Brothers Nic and Chris Cester,  influenced by musical favourites such as AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Beatles, decided to start a band being just three members away of having what they had wish for.

The popular song ‘Are you gonna be my girl’, is probably one of their most trendy and succesful singles, featured in many shows, video games and campaigns. They were once nominated for seven categories from which they received the stunning number of six awards.

On March 2012, they announced their separation with the following message:

“A Message To Our Fans: After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group. From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight.”

The hard work has paid off…

American singer-songwriter from Tennessee Drew Holcomb and his band The Neighbours, have been playing together since 2005. His wife, Ellie Bannister Holcomb, also plays alongside him in the band and helps with the singing and songwriting. Together, they bring a succesful result, which keeps gaining more and more following over the years.

Their upcoming and sixth album ‘Good Light’, set for its release later this month, is the outcome of a new stage on Drew’s life. While the past albums were written with the help of others, this one is mostly Drew’s thoughts and personal experience, throughout which he “explores the universal need to find meaning and joy in the midst of heartbreak and disappointment”.

“With this album I’m telling my story, in the hope that it helps other people tell theirs…”

“It’s Nice To Be Alive”

Ball Park Music is an Indie Rock/Pop band from Australia formed in 2008. Their name was first given to frontman Sam Cromack’s solo work before he met with the rest of the members and started playing together.

They’ve released two albums and the following song is from their first one called ‘Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs’…

Teen Breakthrough Artist…

She’s a twenty-six year old singer-songwriter from New Zealand who won the International Songwriting Competition with her song ‘Hallelujah’ against eleven thousand aspirants from over 77 countries. This song, which made her the youngest winner in the history of the competition, is a tribute to her father who passed away when she was sixteen.

She has released two EPs and two studio albums since 2008 and has won several awards ever since…

“XOXO Gossip Girl…”

First it was Chuck, then OTH and now Gossip Girl has come to an end. Monday night, the series said goodbye with no disappointment, even with some last-minute bombshells, just the way GG knows to. It was time for the show to end but after 6 seasons of gossip, drama, secrets, betrayal, tears, romance…it’s sad to let it go. It was a flawless ending to this story and it’s safe to say we feel satisfied with it.

Once again, with no doubt, Alexandra Patsavas and her staff at Chop Shop have done an outstanding job and made sure this finale had the ideal music to it. We’ve listened to their choices throughout the whole show and not once have failed.

The following songs are featured on the last episode and are just an example of the greatness on a good and powerful soundtrack, a representation of a job well done and the statement that music matters…
