No one said it had to end…

They were an Australian rock band formed in 2001 who decided to part ways earlier last year. Brothers Nic and Chris Cester,  influenced by musical favourites such as AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Beatles, decided to start a band being just three members away of having what they had wish for.

The popular song ‘Are you gonna be my girl’, is probably one of their most trendy and succesful singles, featured in many shows, video games and campaigns. They were once nominated for seven categories from which they received the stunning number of six awards.

On March 2012, they announced their separation with the following message:

“A Message To Our Fans: After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group. From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight.”

“That is a recording voice…”

She’s a twenty-six year old British singer-songwriter from Liverpool who came to stardom when she participated on The X Factor. Although she didn’t win the final, she got something much more precious. She had been signed by a record label which later became a joint record deal with Epic Records.

She released her debut studio album called ‘Heaven’ on 2011, featuring genres such as soul, blues, pop and R&B. Its success was so immediate, that she’s even been compared to her biggest influence, ‘Queen of Soul’, Aretha Franklin…

“With a Buzz in Our Ears, We Play Endlessly”

They’re an Ambient/Post-Rock band from Iceland formed in 1994. Although Sigur and Ros mean Victory and Rose respectively, the band is named after frontman Jónsi’s sister, who was born the same day the band was formed. They’ve released six albums since 1997 and have started work on the next album, due some time this year…

Peeking on a debut…

They are a post-punk revival band formed in 2008 who started by releasing two EP’s and later on, their first studio album ‘Passive Me, Aggressive You’,  a complete success in many ways. Their single ‘Young Blood’, which I posted earlier on, is probably the band’s most popular track and their debut, starting on New Zealand and soon, worldwide.

The following, is the third single from the album and like ‘Young Blood’, it has been featured on many shows and commercials…

The hard work has paid off…

American singer-songwriter from Tennessee Drew Holcomb and his band The Neighbours, have been playing together since 2005. His wife, Ellie Bannister Holcomb, also plays alongside him in the band and helps with the singing and songwriting. Together, they bring a succesful result, which keeps gaining more and more following over the years.

Their upcoming and sixth album ‘Good Light’, set for its release later this month, is the outcome of a new stage on Drew’s life. While the past albums were written with the help of others, this one is mostly Drew’s thoughts and personal experience, throughout which he “explores the universal need to find meaning and joy in the midst of heartbreak and disappointment”.

“With this album I’m telling my story, in the hope that it helps other people tell theirs…”
