At least we have music…

Today, we have a bright and shiny day outside, but unfortunately it’s study time for me (so much fun), so for all you lucky boys and girls who have absolutely nothing to do but wander around, move your buds and enjoy!

And for those who are just as unlucky as I am, I leave you with this song to help you with it…

All the way from Wisconsin…

Today I’m bringing you a band founded in 2007 by male lead singer-songwriter Justin Vernon.

At first, it started as a one-man band, but later on, 3 more members joined and the four of them together, have had the privilege of winning the 2012 Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

It hasn’t been long since they first started and maybe some of you haven’t still heard of them, but I’m sure from now on, that is going to change…

Back to the 80’s with one of the best…

It’s difficult to categorize this band with one genre. They’ve gone from dark wave through new wave to post-punk and some electronic sound.

Although they started in the late 70’s, they became more and more famous with songs like ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Lovesong’ in the 80’s, especially in the States.

With thirteen albums, ten EPs and quite a few singles, this band born in England has managed to build a huge music reputation, and become one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world.

No matter how many years have gone by, they still keep going on and doing what they love and I’m sure it’s been a while since some of you listened to a song from these guys so come on, bring some nostalgia into your lives and remember what it was like…

No better song for this sunny day…

Good morning guys! Today I’m feeling in a good mood so let’s start the day with this song by the young Kina Grannis.

Enjoy the rest of the day (or night), it’s up to your time zone…

So many memories with Les Choristes…

What a talented cast, what a beautiful soundtrack, what an amazing film. No matter how many times I watch this movie, I always end up in tears. Even now, after eight years I get goosebumps watching those kids sing, especially Pierre Morhange (Jean-Baptiste Maunier), the solo vocalist who surprises all with his extraordinary tenor voice.

This is a film worth watching, one of a kind and incredibly moving…

No disappointment on Jools Holland…

Ok seriously from all the songs out there and all the possible covers someone can do, I was definitely not expecting this groovy/soul cover from The White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army’.

I didn’t even know this guy existed till I saw him on Later with Jools Holland the other day and now I know he’s a french soul writer whose music I should check out right now.

Oh and btw, if you haven’t seen that show ever, you should cause the bands on there, kill it! And besides, there’s always new stuff to add to your playlist so it’s a win win…

Got to love a good tango…

Recently I watched Scent of a Woman, and the best scene without a doubt, is the one with the Tango. Am I right or am I right? I mean the reckless Ferrari driving was cool too but Al Pacino, as a blind man dancing like no other to the sound of that beautiful melody? Come on!

Now I want to dance like that too, but in the meantime, while I dream of the possibility, I have this song and this scene to remind me of the elegance and beauty of this genre…

Talent everywhere yet to be known…

These two should definitely record the whole song together. I mean what a cover! They sound amazing and I actually got kinda goosebumps watching them.

I really liked it coming from Nirvana but I wasn’t expecting such an ass kicking job from these guys.

This happened on the show The Voice USA when they were battling for the next round, and it’s a real shame one of them had to leave…

Giggling her way to the top…

I love anything this woman sings, from her most sad tunes to her upbeat happier ones, cause she didn’t just write about her pain ok? I know sometimes it seems that way but there’s more behind it all. I mean have you seen her live? She’s like a 23 year old woman with a little girl inside that apparently comes out 24/7. Don’t you just love her?

Either if you’re studying, trying to relax or walking down the street with whatever your apple product is, there’s always time for Adele.

Anyway, I was in an Adele mood so I bring two songs you probably know by now and if you don’t, look, today is your lucky day and you’re learning something new…
